Long Beach Airport

The Long Beach Airport has three main runways and six helipads, this airport is the main public airport for the city of Long Beach, California. About three miles northeast of downtown, it is one of the busiest airports in the state. Because of it’s location near residential areas, hours for commercial flights are very limited. However, in addition to airline passenger flights, the Long Beach Airport is extremely popular for military and cargo flights, charter flights, flight schools, advertising planes and blimps, helicopter tours, and more, making it one of the most active general aviation airports in the world.

The airport is also known as Daugherty Field, after Earl Daugherty who had previously used the area for various air shows, stunts and flights, as well as starting the world’s first flight school in 1919!
